We can't say, everyone has their own preferences and as we don't know your age, we could not possibly comment. What tends to happen is that the rowdier lot tend to camp closer to the arena and the more calm stay away. White camp is probably your best bet for safety

There's no such things as camping tickets. Weekend tickets are camping tickets by default. Day tickets do not have camping.
For more general information about camping, please visit the camping advice page
None whatsoever although we urge anyone not to do this as it makes for a site that's cramped to be even more cramped
For more general information about camping, please visit the camping advice page
You will have a designated area to get to know colleagues and be closer to the action but we are told you can camp with mates who arrive later. People who work with hotbox events or DC Site Services are usually required to remain campedin crew camping for the duration of the event, but when off duty you are allowed to spend time in normal camping with your mates.

No gas cannisters at all. We advise you to buy some hexy stove burners, eat cold food or try your luck at the vendors. Alternatively cooking on an open fire might be a good experience.
For more general information about camping, please visit the camping advice page
We were thinking of taking a campervan to the festival this year and wondered what the additional fee would be and how to go about getting the right tickets / passes to bring the vehicle in please?
You have to go to buy a ticket and all the information will be there. Things change each year and sometimes many times within a year so just come back to this site and we'll have all the information you'll ever need
It really doesn't matter. You can get problems in camps far away from the arena or close to it. If we had to make a choice, we'd say far away as it's generally more peaceful, near car and more space.
For more general information about camping, please visit the camping advice page
You probably could but with stricter checks on gates, you'll be unlikely to get away with it. We do not advise you bringing in alchol if you are not of legal age
For more general information about camping, please visit the camping advice page
There are always sniffer dogs, at the festival or at the train station
Anything illegal shouldn't be taken in anyway.
Maximum you are looking at is 20 minutes at a reasonable pace
Our maps page will have more information on this
For more general information about camping, please visit the camping advice page
Not that we know of and if there was, we would not even suggest about thinking of going there.
What's stopping them from stealing absolutely everything?
For more general information about camping, please visit the camping advice page
If you got a "guest area" weekend ticket, you should also be able to sort yourself out the car parking as needed from your contact. You should have received a letter with your tickets and/or confirmation explaining this to you
You could always try the guest parking but that fills up pretty quickly so you're best off parking where everyone else does.

We all hope so - it was raised at the focus group and the issue will be given some attention.
Indeed it seemed this way for 2009. Although not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, it was better than previous years
For more general information about camping, please visit the camping advice page
If you haven't got an early entry ticket, the time usually varies but the earlier you get there, the better the chance you have of getting in. 9am seems to be the usual time they let people in.
For more general information about camping, please visit the camping advice page
Obviously camping as close as possible would be key. Each year, Festival Republic releases new information on how disabled people and their carers can get tickets (including dedicated disabled camping) along with other useful information.
http://www.strictlyleeds.co.uk/leeds-festival-advice/885 this page will have more information for you closer to the time, please check back around the start of April
Same time as the normal ticket release. There is a slightly different process which will be obvious when doing the transaction
For more general information about camping, please visit the camping advice page
Yes - you just need to have it below knee height and make sure it's basically doesn't burn anyone. Just wood bought from the fire merchant please. No tents or gas cannisters.
Basic rule - use common sense.
For more general information about camping, please visit the camping advice page
You "should" be able to. I say "should" in a very vague way as Festival Republic are likely to change stuff around.
It also depends on what steward you get. If everything was kept to the rules, you would not be able to get in - but I have seen it done.
For more general information about camping, please visit the camping advice page
Presuming you have a full weekend ticket, there are no restrictions on where you can camp in the normal fields.
Campervans however will have to park up in the Campervan field. Guest/VIP have their own camp. Other than that, the rest of us humans have every other camp to mess around with. If you have 'X' car parking pass, that doesn't mean you have to camp in 'X' coloured camp. You are free to roam about all you want. No restrictions on going from camp to camp.
Only people with a valid weekend ticket can camp. The camping is included in with the price of the ticket.
We STRONGLY advise against trying to sneak in due to overcrowding and possible checks being made which would result in you being kicked out.
Drink and Food (8)
What can you take? How much does food cost there?
- What would be the coincidence of drinking underage or smoking a few buns at the festival be?
- Can you take your own beer into the arena??
- What is the approach on drugs at these festivals?
- How can I get work in the bars
- Seen that the festival is no longer sponsored by Carling, what alcoholic drinks will be served?
- How much money would I need?
- Can I take my own food and drink?
- How much are drinks and food at the festival?
It is illegal. The festival is not free of laws. There is a huge police presence.
If caught, you could be thrown out the festival, cautioned by the police or arrested
No you can not
What type of drugs? I presume that diabetics need their drugs so yeah, FR fully support the use of legal drugs.
Illegal drugs? Well, they're illegal. The festival isn't immune from the law. If you need to drugs to enjoy yourself, the festival is not the place for you, you're better off at home.
http://www.workersbeer.co.uk/ are your best bet
Just because Carling are not the main sponsors, it doesn't mean that there will be no Carling.
This summer, Gaymers will be the official cider of both Leeds and Reading festivals.
You’ll be able to enjoy a refreshing pint of ice-cold Gaymers original as well as the newly-launched Gaymers pear cider, whilst you listen to some of the best music performances of the summer.
Gaymers will be the only cider sold in festival bars and will be served on draught and super-chilled.
Depends what you want - from £0 upwards really. Just bring a debit/credit card. It's easier.
http://www.strictlyleeds.co.uk/faq/drink-and-food/how-much-are-drinks-an... shows you how much food and drinks are so you get a rough idea of cost once there
You sure can. You can take how much you can carry. Only restrictions are that none of those large BBQ grills are allowed but the disposable ones are. Also no glass bottles. Obviously this can be easily hidden away but them are the rules. Keep in mind you have to carry it so make sure you can deal with it.
Also gas cannisters are now banned so we advise taking hexy stove burners instead if you need to warm food up.
This price list was valid for 2009
Inside the fesitval they're not cheap generally and they are a standardised price across all stalls so don't be under the impression that lots of stalls means competitive prices.

http://www.dcsiteservices.com/ or http://thebetterfestivalgroup.co.uk/
http://thebetterfestivalgroup.co.uk/ is the better choice we feel
Around 5000
Lots of areas from production to food vendors through to volunteers looking after car parks. It's a whole raft of peoploe, most of whom, you don't see
We do, the paying customers!
They also get money from sponsorship deals and the vendors on site selling food and merchandise.
For 2009, the figures were 80,000 but this included around 5,00 staff
It will go up by 10, 000 over the next 3 years
Unless you're an official vendor, you will not be allowed to sell anything legally
As far as we know, there is not one.
Pedobear
We do not know and will never be told. We can only assume.
Erm. Check the lineup? Usually, answer is no.
If you bothered to read anything properly, you'd notice aerosols are banned also
Council regulations. Too many idiots ignoring us and official site and going down early.
No, you are trapped forever. Jesus, of course you can leave.
Yes, there are several million
There are a lot of jobs all year round at Leeds. Best going to the the jobcentre. Obviously, working for the festival is a different matter but you didn't ask about that... and rightly so as we have already answered it
We don't know, we will be the first site with it though like we were the first with the official lineup poster.
Well, I'll answer this with another question.... it's illegal isn't it?
You are best off asking the actual sites: http://www.dcsiteservices.com/
Seriously? Why not try visiting the official site?
Festival Republic
Humans
Within the arena, there has never been 4 days of music and never will.
Not really although technically it is illegal and carries a fixed penalty notice but we've yet to see anyone been given one.
As long as they are official sites.
Ranges from anytime before the festival (a year at least) to the day of the festival
Not connected in anyway whatsoever. 100% unofficial. As a website, we don't have any contact with Festival Republic whatsoever.
Yes, banned for life. Details are taken down and anyone connected with you will also be unable to go.
Not really you idiot
When the focus group said about U18 wristbands, do they mean a seperate wristband to say you are under 18 (so they'll have 2 wristbands) or a different colour wristband for under 18s? We are still getting clarification on this.
No - why would they?!?
They do. Gallows did it for example. Also Bullet For My Balentine did.
Headliners won't due to contractual reasons i.e. a festival wanting exclusivity over another.
You can enter and leave with the adult but if security see the kids without an adult, they will be held until an adult comes to take care of them.
Yes you can go back.
Common sense is an awesome thing.
Not that we know of for the current year
http://www.strictlyleeds.co.uk/leeds-festival-advice/885 is the best place to look
In 2009, Leeds Festival will be on the 28th, 29th and 30th of August
1961 technically. In 1972, the festival, now known as the National Jazz, Blues, Folk and Blues Festival was in place.
The event is known as the Leeds Rock Festival in 1978.
The official site should be selling them soon. If not, eBay will be your best bet.
http://www.bandmad.com/store/page3.asp?suptype=1&t=4&sub_type=422
75k each day and 5k staff
I can get you longitude/latitude points if that helps. I'll get postcode shortly.
51.473468,-1.02013 for long/lat
Yes, your camp.
No - you will be fine.
VIP access
Should be fine if you are talking about the Mach 3 type of razors
Everything depends on your experiences.
From residents of the festival, there is a fair bit of disruption around the area over the weekend and the festival can be quite loud.
I will get more information ASAP
If there are no more places, then there are no more places.
http://www.thebetterfestivalgroup.co.uk is the best place for volunteer work.
There should be although it's not 100% guaranteed
Legal drugs are no issue at all but you might have to go to the medicine tent to check it all out and possibly get a note from your GP about any medication you are taking.
It took us 20 minutes at a nice pace. You can either go through the festival itself or along the river. Alternatively, you can take the boat down which is the best way of doing it.
It's no big deal.
The very last second of Wednesday is the latest you can arrive on Wednesday.
Your best bet is to try the official store on the official site.
Failing that, we would suggest eBay and just googling around. The chances that stores will have posters from any year apart from the most current one are pretty slim.
Yes. That will be fine. You might be best off asking Festival Republic direct for more precise instructions. From our knowledge and experience, you wil be fine. Take any documentation and proof of ID you have.
Yes they do, like most festivals, gigs and concerts
There isn't one!
If you are local to Berkshire then read this page which has all the info on it: http://www.strictlyleeds.co.uk/leeds-festival-2008/news/fancy-rocking-le...
Otherwise, we'd suggest going to the BBC Introducing website and enquiring there
Again- the appropriate answer would be how safe is it around your local area? How safe is the U.K. in general?
99% of the people at Leeds Festival are out to havea good time - they are welcoming, nice, polite and there to enjoy themselves. First time festival goers may find the first night intimidating (noise) but they'll soon adapt, knowing everyone there is just up for a good time.
Anyone young MUST NOT be left alone. We can't stress this enough.
Kids under 12 get in for free, but they have to be accompanied by an adult (over 18) at ALL times. If any child is found on their own at ANY point by staff/security they will be classed and treated as a missing person! Which could a) cause problems that cause you to miss bands or b) get their responsible adult to take them off site potentially meaning you miss the remainder of the festival.

Check out the latest rumours page, we'll let you know there
Why not? We know the lineup tends to mean that Sunday is the heavier of the 3 days. It still is this year. Eminem has headlined Sunday previously. Melvin Benn had this to say:
Wait for the final lineup to be announced. Even then, it's not 100% untill the band play 2 sets on the day.
LIke last year, we hope so
Over the coming weeks and months
More should be released
Look at the lineup poster. If they are not there yet, we don't know.
Over the coming weeks and months. We will be first with confirmed acts.
A lot
Sorry but that doesn't make any sense.
Main stage - any genre
Dance stage - dance
Lock-Up stage - punk N.B. the dance stage is also the lock-up stage but on different days
FR stage - any genre
BBC Intoducing stage - any genre
Depends - maybe every week or every few weeks.
Just before 7pm on 30th March. The lineup is always released moments before tickets go on sale.
No one knows the exact figures but a 7 to 8 figure price tag is often banded around. Decent headliners will get at least £1m
It will be towards the end of March, on a Monday. Maybe even start of April.
We do not know when the official Leeds Festival lineup will be released until closer to the date.
Rumours are never true until they are up on the poster. In fact, Leeds Festival rumours aren't true until a band have played a full set on stage.
Nope - not until FR produce a timetable but if you look at previous years, you should be able to link the acts to this year and get a pretty reasonable list going.
We have got information the Leeds Festival 2008 lineup if needed.
Depends what "events" you mean?
This will be released in the weeks running up to the festival.
Officially, there is no confirmation of bands playing as yet (forLeeds Festival 2009). However when we do have information, you can see the official Leeds Festival 2009 Lineup.
In the time between now and then, you can check out the Leeds Festival 2009 rumours.
Yes - sell loads of records :-)
Seriously though - at the moment, it only looks like Leeds has an unsigned tent. However, Leeds does have the Nokia tent where your band can play a few songs. You'll have to check the official site for more details but as soon as any become available, we'll update this site sooner than you can say booya.
This is a Leeds Festival site! Also, they both have identical lineups so any news/rumours regarding the lineup for Leeds will apply to Leeds. http://www.strictlyleeds.co.uk is the Leeds version of this site.

For the festival in 2009, an offer was available. As for 2010, we do not know but will update ASAP
More tickets to Leeds Festival in August were available exclusively to residents of the Borough of Leeds (one per resident) until Friday 31st July 2009
People had to register before Friday 31st July in order to be emailed the ticket link. Name, address and how you will be travelling to the festival had to be sent to Leeds@festivalrepublic.com.
The only official way is to use Viagogo http://tidd.ly/e478ebc7=
This question has already been answered.
The tickets are released towards end of march and the start of April.
As soon as we have a definite date, we will tell you.
Day ticket holders can mix with weekend ticket holders. Day ticket holders should not to to the camping fields ideally.
Security and other campers that will beat the living shit out of you
Not as we currently stand
Are you really an idiot? If you want to go for the weekend, you get a weekend ticket. if you just want to go on a particular day, get the ticket for that day
Only if you keep checking the official vendors, other than that, use this link: http://tinyurl.com/leedstix

We are trying our hardest to persuade FR to carry this out. We might even start a campaign :-)
No, just travel....... of course it includes the weekend ticket you idiot. It even says on your confirmation emails and the page you buy it from
Then you are an idiot and we don't like helping idiots.... but we are nice. Basically, call up the people you bought from... hang on, this was obvious.
No
We thought this was pretty damn obvious! Unless you get a coach page, you have no chance of getting an early entry ticket unless you try eBay which we don't advise
Most probably. If you are underage and not with an adult, you won't be gained access. We thought this was a simple enough point.
Not a low enough one to take the piss.
Strongly. Legal ID.
Erm.... yes. You've bought it haven't you?
Yes
Only if they aren't 100% on your age; like anything else in this country!
This question has already been answered. Technically, it's weeks.
What happens is that the lot is sold out within a few hours. However a small percentage are put out over the coming weeks because there have been issues with orders placed. So it is a few hours but there is a small chance that some are put back on sale.
Sunday night
1: Who told you this, did you not think to ask them for further details
2: No, it's not true
3: Seriously?
Early bird tickets are released in September
You may purchase a maximum of 6 tickets online in one order... but majority only sell 4
TICKETS GO ON SALE AT HMVs AT 7PM on 30th MARCH NOT THE NEXT DAY AS IN PREVIOUS YEARS
Leeds Oracle is the only HMV that will be selling Day Tickets
HMV's participating are High Wycombe, Kingston, Newbury, Oxford, Portsmouth, Leeds Friar St, Leeds Oracle, Slough, Southampton, Staines, Swindon, Winchester. These stores are subject to change
At HMV, you can buy 2 tickets per card using one ID.
Early Bird tickets actually come out in September. You must be on about Early Entry!!!
As we've clearly stated here and as the official site and forums clearly sate. There will be no tickets sold "on the door" this year.
http://www.strictlyleeds.co.uk/leeds-festival-advice/tickets/general-tic...
Basically go to any of the official sites, grab their number and then try that
At least one month
Nope http://www.strictlyleeds.co.uk/leeds-festival-2009/tickets/important-tic...
Anyone can get pre-sale tickets around September time anyway. So basically Leeds residents have the same opportunity as everyone else.
Wrong festival. This isn't Glastonbury. You don't need to register for Leeds Festival
Strictly speaking, there is no "second batch".
The tickets will be released towards the end of March. 1st release of "pre-release" tickets go on sale in September. The main tickets go on sale in March.
If you don't know how to get them, you won't get them anyway
Technically, midnight
No. Think about it.
You can't buy tickets on the day anymore. http://www.strictlyleeds.co.uk/leeds-festival-2009/tickets/important-tic...
We can't make this anymore obvious. No tickets on the door/box office in 2009 mainly because there will not be one.
* Be more specific in your question
* What kind of tickets
* Where did you buy them from
If it's from an official source, how about contact that official source rather than another website? They know more about the situation than anyone else.
If it's an unofficial site, then tough!!! The official site and forums, this site and associated forums and other sites warn people not to use unofficial sites to within an inch of our lives. If you (not saying you have) haven't got the common sense to buy from an OFFICIAL SITE and ask the OFFICIAL SITE the questions, I pity you.
In our honest opinion, seetickets are rubbish.
You should be able to buy a car park ticket on the gate if they haven't sold out already. They're only valid with a weekend ticket.
No
You can't collect from the venue anymore. You will need to go to the Hexagon theatre in the city centre.
Tickets are sent 7-10 adys before the start of the festival. If you don't get the, call up whoever you got your tickets from and you can pick them up at the festival
There's no VIP camping for one so you might have been bent over and had there.
The fact anyone chooses to have VIP camping for a rock festival who isn't in a band makes us all sick so f** you.
They are being sent out the same every year, as stated on your confirmation email, as stated on any follow up email, as stated on this website and as stated on the official website, as stated on the official forums and as stated on unofficial forms.
Anything up to 2 weeks before.... and even up to the day before.
Camp
We have already listed the list of official vendors here: http://www.strictlyleeds.co.uk/leeds-festival-advice/tickets/general-tic...
I truly can not believe that this is a serious question!!!
Where you coming from?
Will there be traffic
Will the coach break down
What time are you leaving?
Lord knows what time you'll get there! There's no set time, there's no approximate time! You're best to assume as late on Thursday as possible so anything earlier would be a bonus.
Coaches leave on Thursday as your email and confirmation pages would have already told you. Please read what they send to you.
You need to get the tickets off the coach. It's up to the driver whether you can or not.
How do you think? Check official vendors!!!
We don't advise it - people get ripped off all the time. It's easy to get a 100% profile with 100+ positive entries.
We would advise against it but people still do.
WHAT?!?
Why on earth would you buy a car parking ticket if you do not drive? if it's for someone else, find out their registration.
As far as we have been told by FR, all tickets in the 2008 pre-sale have been sold out. More will be released around March 2009 for the festival in 2009
Of course not - they are day tickets!
Seriously, no. You need a weekend ticket than included camping.
No - only official ticket sites from the official Leeds Festival site are... well... official. This has been answered several times on this very site. Please take the time to read.

These are two possibilities
All ticket vendors have their own costings. These involve P&P and booking fee.
For a weekend ticket, you'd add around £10 (MAX) on top of the face value of the ticket for such fees. For other tickets, expect to pay slightly less.
Yes - weekend tickets sell out within hours. Day tickets can be on sale for a few hours, a few days or even weeks.
Not this year though.
They will be - we have been in contact with the festival organisers and as soon as we hear anything back, we will let you know.
If you get a day ticket, there is no time limit as such but it would be daft just sitting around since the early morning.
We would strongly suggest getting there for 11am, this is when the main arena opens.
That is right - you have to leave by the end of the day
No. You can buy any amount up to 4 on any single card. Some vendors allow more and some allow less. Just make sure it's an official website
You will be fine - just think how many organisations go through a single IP address.
I suggest download and installing Mozilla Firefox, then install FasterFox and get there an hour early.
How long is a piece of string? The fact this answer is already answered several times here and on official site worries me - it worries me that you can't find the information which in turn suggests you might not be able to figure out how to get a ticket.
They sell out within the hour.
This has already been answered!
You need to call the official vendors on the day. Check the official vendors list for more information.
Yes you can.
Children under 13 (12 and under) are admitted free but MUST be accompanied by a ticket holding adult. Please note there is no separate children's area at this event.
No unaccompanied under 16's
Stay tuned to this website!
There isn't a mean fiddler box office
There is never a 100% way to check. It should have a hologram on it. There are various designs so if yours changes from another, then don't worry. Chances are that if it has a decent hologram on it and look authentic, it *might* be. Ask user for their booking information and call up the ticket supplier they bought the ticket from to at least verify the seller indeed bought some.
Both are as likely and unlikely as one another. The internet is likely to hold more connections but many more people will be using it. Our advice - use both.
The list of authentic and trusted suppliers are noted here: http://www.strictlyleeds.co.uk/leeds-festival-advice/tickets/general-tic...
With money ideally. http://www.strictlyleeds.co.uk/leeds-festival-advice/tickets/general-tic... for more information.
If you want. The option is there. The choice is yours. I'd advise you to do so as they both sell out quickly.
You need to get what is known in the trade as a "weekend ticket" - this includes camping and access to the main arena. You can't have an early entry ticket without a weekend pass. Otherwise people will just camp and steal stuff.
If you buy a weekend ticket, this will include camping. 3 day passes will not entitle you to camp and also you can not buy camping seperately.
You need to contact the vendors who you bought your ticket from. Only they can do anything about it.
Quite a few. The city centre expected 240k people last year. This roughly equates to 80,000 a day.
Some staff, some day ticket hoders and some weekend ticket holders
It was 6 online. Any more than that and you will have to place to separate orders with a different credit card and billing/shipping address it has to be different because it will get ALL cancelled otherwise.
However you could also buy 4 in person. The most you could put on any one card would be 6 though.
Well - it really isn't difficult. Stay tuned to this site and the official site for the official date when tickets are released. We don't know the exact time yet but we will post it on the site as soon as we know. It could be anytime between Feb and April.
My advice is to install a new internet browser called Mozilla Firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox and then install a plugin called FasterFox: http://fasterfox.mozdev.org/ or if you are happy with using whatever internet browser you have then fine :-)
Everyone can get in on Thursday. If you buy early entry tickets then you get in on Wednesday. Pre-sale tickets were the ones bought in September/October last year.
* Weekend ticket = Get in on Thursday
* Pre-sale weekend ticket = Get in on Thursday
* Weekend ticket + early entry ticket = Get in on Wednesday
* Pre-sale Weekend ticket + early entry ticket = Get in on Wednesday
These tickets are released shortly after the current festival for the following year at the current years prices. You are guaranteed the tickets and at a cheaper price. In 2007, these tickets were released in September. They stopped around October. It is there for peple not wanting to rush in the March ticket release.
All the information can be found on our early entry advice page
