Festival chiefs, police and security teams have uncovered a new scam involving counterfeit tickets and wristbands that could see unsuspecting festival-goers fleeced twice in one go this summer.
Tickets for the Reading & Leeds Festivals will be on sale towards the end of March. This was an excerpt from a Festival Republic newsletter
This ties in with the rumours that the tickets will be released on Monday 29th March 2010. It will make sense as most people are paid at the end of the month :)

Right, let's be very clear from the outset. It's nothing like being on the frontline in Afghanistan or going on a night out in Cardiff but the trouble at Leeds and Reading causes lots of problems for festival-goers and nearby residents alike.

Let's face it, you know you want to but unless you are signed and are approached, the chances of you playing at Leeds Festival 2010 is pretty damn low. This is where the BBC Introducing stage can come in handy. Whilst we don't guarantee you'll get a headling slot at Leeds, it'll be sure worth your time contacting BBC Introducing or even uploading your work

Surveys have already been carried out at this year’s event with festival goers and traders. Students from the University of Leeds conducted over 2000 face to face surveys with festival goers which explored demographic profile, festival attendance and spending patterns.
A face to face survey with traders, suppliers and promoters on site at the festival was also conducted by Baker Associates to understand business types, expenditure, staffing levels and supply chains.
